Italian venison stew Serves 4 Takes 1.5 hours All in one

150/200 g of venison chunks per person or use beef A slug of olive oil 2 carrots, 1 turnip, 1 large potato, 1 large white onion chopped 2 teaspoons dried basil 1/2 teaspoon thyme 2 teaspoons chopped garlic Salt and pepper 100 mls passata 150 mls of good red wine 1 clove 1 tin of chopped tomatoes 2 rich beef stock pods Water to cover You can add a little cornflour to thicken if you like
Pop all in a casserole dish with lid and cook at 170 for 40 mins and then 100 for 50 mins.
