Give it a little rubadubdub....
Can't quite believe I ended up with a beef rib for 6 hungry people, after my trip to the butchers the other day!
I pointed to a piece of rib and then ordered other things, so when he haded me the bag it didn't occur to me why it was so heavy! Got home and discovered half a bloody cow!
Never mind. Him in doors hacked it and split it into rib steaks. Still, one steak is large enough for two! So tonight I will make dauphinoise, garlic spinach and tuck in! Before I do that though, let me share a great dry rub for your beef steaks in future. Pop this in an airtight tub and store in the pantry/store cupboard for several uses.
Make sure you grind this all up together either with a pestle and mortar or in a coffee grinder.
3 tablespoon coarsely ground black pepper
2 teaspoons of ground coffee
1 tablespoon granulated white sugar
1 tablespoon onion powder
2 teaspoons mustard powder
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon chipotle powder
